Membership of the non English Speaking Background Domestic Violence Action Group shall be open to bi-cultural persons who agree and accept the objectives below:
- To raise awareness about domestic violence issues in non English speaking background communities.
- To encourage the wider community to accept responsibility and take steps to reduce and prevent the occurrence of domestic violence.
- To encourage the wider community to accept responsibility and take steps for the protection of children who live in domestic violence situations.
- To raise cultural awareness about domestic violence issues with people working in human services.
- To acknowledge, support and promote the skills and experience of bi-cultural workers who assist people affected by domestic violence.
- To develop effective networks and on going liaison between groups and/or service providers assisting non English speaking domestic violence clients.
- To improve accessibility to all domestic violence services, including health professionals, of non English speaking background communities.
- To lobby for provision of culturally appropriate domestic violence training for service providers working with non English speaking background communities.
- To encourage non English speaking background paid and non paid workers to participate in education programs regarding domestic violence.
- To lobby legislative and social policy changes that lead to the protection of NESB domestic violence survivors.
- To promote the right of all people to live in a social, spiritual and emotional environment which promotes safety and provides the necessary opportunities for maximum development.

Organisation members shall apply in writing for membership, express support for the above objectives and pay the prescribed membership fee.An organisation may appoint from ints members a representative who may speak and vote on it's behalf.
